Default PraziPro Reaction Killed 2 fish and others fine?

    Hey All,

So to get everything out of the way tank

    PH: 7.6 co2 controlled to 7.4
    TDS around 150
    Temp 84
1/4 tap/ro water mixed and aged.
Nitrates 10 this is what my mix is high nitrates in well water so basically as good as it gets for me.
    Nitrites 0
    Ammonia 0
Tank is a 120 which had 12 discus and 55 gallon sump with k1 media a ton of aeration.

So here’s what happened, so I just got a few new discus that were properly quarantined. To make sure there were no nasties in my tank I added a dose of prazipro to kill anything unwanted, had been battling flukes a few weeks prior but they hadn’t been seen since. So I turned off my co2, turned on the in display airstones and dosed 2tbsp for 120 gallons factoring in displacement, Immediately after putting in the prazipro on of my discus started acting strange and within an hour was dead. He was one of the one hit hardest by the flukes so honestly I didn’t think anything of it and moved on because everyone else looked fine. Fast forward to this morning and another fish once again had hit by flukes had clamped fins but I figured it’s just normal discomfort with the added medication. Fast forward again the this afternoon another completely separate fish the has never had any health issues up and died. After darting around for and hour. Everyone else is still fine and eating at this point I started changing water and added some carbon to get this **** out of my tank. Anyone have an idea what happened? Annoying the hell out of me.

2 tablespoons is 1 tablespoon too much for that size.
1 fluid ounce for 120 gallons

    What am I missing, 1 oz =~30 cc and 1 tbsp =~ 15 cc.
As a check Hikari recommends 1 tsp per 20 gallons or 6 tsp per 120 gallons and since 3 tsp = 1 tbsp, need 2 tbsp for 120

Being lazy I use the oz to Tablespoon calculator.

    1 oz(US liquid)= 2 Tablespoon (US)

I though you needed another tablespoon to account for the 55 gallon sump.

My old friend Dr. Dottie had the same experience using PraziPro. It's the only other time I've heard of an outcome like that using PraziPro.

I cannot say what happened here but prazipro at those dosages will not overdose the fish. But something to consider is, like humans, fish can also be allergic to some medications.

    Just something to consider.
