Hi,

I am going to set up a fish room with tanks totalling a water volume of about 5000 litres. The largest tank will be 2.6m (8 ft)long. I will mainly keep Heckels. I have experience in keeping artificial discus using large daily water change with just a sponge filter in the tank. However, I keep hearing conflicting opinions on water change for wild. Some say daily large volume water change is fine. and some say less frequent water change with good filtration is best. Heckels generally require lower pH. Should I go for a 25% weekly water change schedule (or any other schedule). I am also planning to run a centralised filter system. What will be the best way to run this system? A battery of canister filter or sumps? Thank you.
