    Default On Going Issue

i've had an ongoing issue with one of my Discus for 5-6 months now. White poop.
The fish eats fine and i've tried treating with Prizipro, levamisole and Metro on multiple occasions. Still it never goes away.
All the other discus are fine.
I've looked at the poop under the microscope and there is nothing in it.
I'm starting to get real concerned as over the past month she has lost a lot of weight and looks to be wasting away.
I'm guessing its a Tapeworm. She back in her quarantine bucket and being treated with Prazipro and epson salt now. Any ideas on what else i can try ?

if the discus had Hex. Even if you treat and the fish and they get better, they still have Hex organisms in their body waiting to flare up again if the fish is stressed and the immune system becomes compromised.....just my 2 cents.

Continue with Prazipro and instead of epson salt try table salt. It seems that the epson salt should have worked by now at flushing the system.

I would try salt and heat (92 degrees) for 10 days. I don’t believe it could hurt since it does not appear to be a bacteria problem. It has worked for me several times. You don’t have much to lose, you are on a dead end street .

Thank you all. I've never used table salt before. Would it be the same ratio as Epson salt?

2-3 Tablespoons table salt per 10 gallons.....

Salt dip with higher salt concentration 2 Tablespoon per gallon.

Did you already take a fecal examination? By the time there are white feces the Hex had already infected the bloodstream. Try nitrofuranase as it
goes to the bloodstream of the Discus. If that doesn't work there is the Vet, he may charge you for some droncit.

    Hi Francis,
The amount of droncit depends on the weight of the Discus, the Vet will usually ask.
