Default best and quietest overflow system for a 290g tank

I'm looking into options for a pre-constructed overflow box for my new 290g tank.... any thoughts / preferences among these vendors that I found?

    - Exotic Marine Systems: has horizontal instead of vertical slots in the inner box: good or bad? Looks the only system that does horizontal...

    - Fiji Cube 2400gph: also looks very sleek...

    - Modular Marine 3000gph: seems interesting, but it looks like not available at the moment...?

    - Eshopss Eclipse L: probably too small for 290gal tank?

    - Synergy Reef Ghost 20": some review say poor / cheap quality?

Any thoughts on one vs the other?

Only one difference between horizontal and vertical is that one requires additional 90 elbow. Unnecessary elbow reduces flow.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them to be honest. I have a fiji cube and love it

Quietness is key. My homemade rack now has a 6' drop from the highest tank down to the sumps.... and I occasionally get a rhythmic gurgle (about every 2 minutes). my wife pointed it out to me. Really question other forum members about the quietness, or lack thereof, of the overflow device they've selected...

Agree - this is the main objective. What I've read so far on these designs the "Exotic Marine Systems" (EMS) pride themselves of being the quietest... quoting their horizontal slits and the fact that they do not have a significant drop in the water level between the inner and the outer box (unlike Synergy reef or Eshopps where the outer box is significantly lower).
Any experience in comparing these and in relation to noise level?

No, I have no experience. I drilled all of my tanks for bulkheads and just plumbed down to the sump. I terminated at the sump to the point where I traded the steady trickle for an occasional gurgle... If it were in a common / family room it would be unacceptable to some.. However, it's in my Fish Nook which is a few feet away from my desk in my office... so no big deal for me..
