    Default Let there be light!

I've been wanting more Finnex Vivid lights for a long time. My friend Miranda at Chicago Discus is a dealer. Thanks to AB my Pitch Black Rams bought me 6 of them. I ordered them Monday and they just arrived. I am so happy to finally get rid of my fluorescents and cheap LED's. Look at what a difference in my Discus. One pic is with the old fluorescents. The other is with the Finnex Vivid. Thank you so very much, Miranda. I'm happy as a pig in a wallow.

Nice! I've been wondering what kind of LED will produce a similar lighting to the Aqueon Colormax florescent. So far all I've seen is algae...

I just love these lights. They really bring out the colors of the fish. The tank will be even brighter when that huge hunk of floating driftwood will decide to sink.

    Looks stunning Liz.

How did your discus react to the change in lighting? Are you dimming them at all?

    The Discus didn't care.

I like the Vivid model. They make another one that's better for plants, but my low light easy car plants in my planted aquarium do fine with the Vivid. Miranda can suggest the right one for you, I'm sure.

The Discus are my home bred high bodied blue SS's with pretty little red spots. The 9 bar in their is their old daddy/granddaddy. He's a domestic RSG. I crossed to a Blue Scorpion to produce these.

It's incredible how much difference is made by changing lights. The new LED fixture you've got really makes their colors POP!

In addition to the blue, red, and white bulbs these have a pink bulb. For some reason the pink really makes the colors pop. It shows off the light blue base on my SS's. I put one on a planted 100 gallon mostly Dutch Blue Ram tank and a second one on my 125 rainbow tank and they were transformed as well.

Big difference. I'll have to run up there and get some. I haven't been there in awhile!

I've put these into my fish room as well. Miranda's prices are very competitive.

Honestly, they don't come any better than Miranda. The lady has a big heart.
