Default A new one on me

I sold a pair of Pitch Black Rams that were parent raisers. They had spawned again a day or two before I sent them off. After they were gone I put another prospective pair in their tank figuring they'd eat the eggs and spawn again. Well, they did eat some but then dad started fanning the ones that were left. They became wigglers just today. I wonder if the new pair will continue to care for their adopted kids once they start swimming.

That worked out real nice, Liz! I usually pull my ram spawns and let them hatch on their own. It doesn't seem to matter when I pull them, as eggs, wrigglers or free swimmers. As long as I got the nano food ready, they're good to go. But it's fascinating to see fish with well developed parental instincts.
At my age, everything is irritating.

The blacks are a special fish
I know another breeder that uses 1 particular pair I sent him to raise all his fry !
He said he adds a couple free swimmers and when the surrogate parents accept the few fry they add the rest and all it is good .
Makes it work like a machine !
The blacks are either the best parents ever or homicidal maniacs .
Only one of those groups last ...
