    Default Great fish from ChicagoDiscus

Just had to share my fantastic experience with ChicagoDiscus. Meeting Miranda was awesome as she was nice, very knowledgeable, and patient with my fish selections/questions. The place is awesome to see and the fish are superb. I was looking for larger reds and boy did I get some beauts.

Before this, as I’m sure you all know, I was a Kenny fan through and through. After his tragic loss, I still needed a group of reds (which Kenny had been working on until his illness) and so I tried ChicagoDiscus......boy I’m glad I did. The pic below was a short while after my two hour trek home releasing them into into their tank. I’m picky about the fish I buy and Miranda and her fish were SO worth the drive/traffic.

Very nice. You're so lucky to be able to drive to Miranda's and pick out your own.

They are all beautiful but there is one that is outstanding. It's the one with the full pattern and near perfect shape. You are very lucky. Miranda can be counted on for good fish.

    Liz,

You bring up an interesting point abt the perfect shape and full patterning. Often times I find myself focusing on these two important attributes to the point that I pass on a fish or two that simply appeals to me.......I love the look/appearance. While the fish I get have to be of general quality, shape, health, and pattern, I have decided to go for what jumps out at me as well for variety’s sake having a tank of largely the same type of fish.
On top of that....some types, like red panda, almost always seem to be less than full patterned in the true sense of the word.
This fish is like that.......simply a nice fish to look at.

This guy has a nice red zone which enhances the white markings imho. You stated that they’re all beautiful which sort of echoes my thinking......beautiful but having general discus qualities like roundness (no football like appearance) for example.
