white spot

one of my 8 discus has developed a white growth like a dot. if its is fungal, what treatment do i use? or should i just use aquarium salt first? temp in tank is 82
i will try to take a photo

It is very difficult to diagnose from such little info. A photo would help, but filling out the disease questionaire is the most reliable way to get an accurate answer. Please fill it out asap, but in the meantime what are your water parameters?

Hi mwdman, please do not raise the temp. Simply do more water changes. This fugal node is from dirty water. A couple of 50% water changes should clear it up.

i think there is not enough white media in me canister filters either

Not sure what white media means? But that pimple is from the water. Some discus get them. I have a red cover that get them. I change 50 every 2days on that tank buy sometimes it still gets them. It was a planted tank and that may have been why. Will see now that most of the plants are gone.

See if the white spot developed into white pus later, possible sign of HITH can be treated using metro.
