    Default Flow Question

So I’m going to be running a 6.5ft tank with a 5ft sump filter. I am going to run two return pumps that can be controlled for flow rate.

Would this be enough for the tank or would I need to supplement with anything else. I’m also wondering wether I should put them both on a spray bar covering half the tank each?

    Any tips would be appreciated.

I can move anything between 2000lph and 16000lph with the two return pumps.

I think that with discus, oxygen is more important than flow. Seems as though you have more than enough for a tank that size. Flowbar will improve oxygenation but I always have a strong airtone going. Especially when the tank is heavily populated

Curious as to the reason for 2 pumps, failsafe or something?

I have a 6ft tank, running a single 12000lph pump into two 1 inch returns.
At this flow I have to change out my filter bags (4x 200 micron) every 2 days or they start to overflow.

Yes failsafe is one option and another is ease of plumbing to return water to different parts of tank. I’m coming round to thinking a spray bar fitted to each covering a back half of the tank each would suffice.
