Default 6ft Prostar rimless tank with sump- recommedation

    Hello friends,

For my next diacus project I was looking at a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft prostar rimless tank. It comes with a ready sump. Total volume is around 240gallon. Its mainly meant for reef, but can be used for freshwater as well. The sump design is pretty good.

I have not dealt with them before, but I like the tanks and the specs.

Does anyone have any good or bad experience with prostar rimless tank that you can share?
    It would be very helpful.

Also, any recommendation for a 6ft rimless tank with peninsula overflow and sump would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Joy

There have been three releases of tis aquarium (according to the reefer sites). Which means there were lots of problems. Who knows, perhaps they are fine.

They are much cheaper than the traditional systems that are most popular for SW. Which always makes me a bit nervous.
I'd pay a bit more and try waterbox or a tank from glasscages. I upgraded last year and looked at them and they weren't available - I think for the upgrade. I went wit an acrylic as I wanted a higher height dimension

In my mind, they have not been proven.

I talked to waterbox yesterday. They are good but I have difficulty getting those in San Jose.

The nearest distributor is in Sacramento and they don't deliver to San Jose. I talked to their head office and they say they can ship it and leave it on my drive. I have to arrange for bringing it home.
I will ask my LFS for the service.
Have you guys faced this challenge and what did you do?

Thanks for all your help guys..feels like I have extended friend circle who I can turn to...

I contract work with business that have large aquariums any moving companies such as NorCal in the BayArea can deliver.
Most LFS don't have delivery service because of liability but might know someone.

6x2x2 is 180g, so his sump is 60 for the 240 gal total

Unless glasscages has improved over the years I'd stay away from them (but I haven't looked into them in a long* time).. but Waterbox seems pretty excellent and I had one call with them and was actually presently surprised by the customer service. Very thorough, honest and helpful.

But have to also mention that one reason I didn't go rimless was worry about discus jumping. I would think extremely, extremely rare in a tank that large though.
