Regular maintenance medications?

I am new to discus tank and i am keeping tank healthy since 2 weeks.I have 75 gallon tank with 7 discus. I have a cannister filter and a skimmer.
All is going well.
I have read all beginners guide.
My LFK said that every 35 days i have to medicate tank with metronidazole to keep healthy.
So the my Q is-
Is it necessary to medicate tank without any issue?
If Y then which medication i needed to add regular basis to keep fish healthy?

No medication unless needed, just like you don't take an aspirin unless you have a headache.

When you buy healthy stocks from the start you could eliminate many problems.

The 4Qs.
1..buy quality discus from the start.
2..maintain quality water.
3..provide quality nutrition foods.
4..follow a strict quarantine procedure.
