Default Keeping logs/driftwood to stand up

I'm entertaining the thought of doing standing up logs for my tank. For those that have used them, how do you keep them standing up?

Here is an example of what I'm talking about.

I've never done it but what I'd try is to start with a clean dry tank and clean well sanded dry logs and silicone them to the bottom.

You may have to soak the logs first so they'll sink. If so, Super Glue will work on damp wood.
At my age, everything is irritating.

Silicone it. Or, super glue would be an option.
