It depends on your tank size, number of fish, size of fish, number of filters, filter technology, food, feeding frequency & quantity, cleaning schedule of filters, water change volume, water change frequency, and much more.

75 gal w a sunsun canister filter 375 gph - may get a second one later. I usually feed hikari vibra bites and omega one sinking pellets 2 times a day. Hoping to change 50%+ 2 maybe 3 times a week when possible.

Smaller discus 2.5-3 ins requires more feedings per day with high protein foods, add a one sponge filter too.

6 would be best. You should be fine with 4" fish.

oh yeah. 100% starting with minimum 4inch fish. Do you guys think ill be okay to start planting the tank once they reach 5 inch?

You could, but you would be better off gluing plants to the driftwood.

Go easy with plants. Plants can be a whole different project. I use easy plants and now I’m putting them in pots. Makes it easy to remove if adding salt or meds. The plant no the right is a giant hygro. Easy plant and with the right lighting will grow leaves from top to bottom. If interested I can send you some of this. I throw it away monthly. In pic it’s already at the top of tank.0B85710E-AC87-4C37-84C1-F3283BCFF94A.jpg

Yes when planting the only rooted plant I was thinking of was val. I wanted some val on one side of the tank, everything else would be potted or attached to rocks/wood. Iminit I would love some hygro, if it okay can I contact you later to purchase some? I still have a severum at the moment who will probably eat it all.

Thank you, also I have an offer to get a 90-gallon tank with lids and 150? How would the dynamic change if I were to get a 90 instead?

Only if the tank holds water. Does it come with a stand, filter, light? It’s only 15g more than the 75 so it’s not much difference. I’d put the 150 into discus. There’s always someone selling used tanks. If you watch the listings they rarely sell. Facebooks gotthe same tanks for months.

I was thinking the same or similar stocking, similar Wc regiment, and feedings but just in a larger tank. Also any info on wild discus? I saw a posting on aqua bid by snook21 I think for wild Red Spot Green Discus from Rio Nanay. I feel like a Rio Nanay biotope ish thing could be cool. Im not too sure on that though. Are wild fish harder to keep? Also if I do get a 120 how should I alter the stocking while keeping it lightly stocked? If anything I was thinking about getting another angel or GBR like Iminit.
