A flew have managed to fly out of their 42x 42" container. The temp, weirdly will be in the 70's for many days before the cold hits again. This crazy weather has been good to me for once and I moved them to their new forever house. Here is the pic from when they got brave enough to leave the cardboard box I carried them over in. I don't have a pic of me catching them and stuffing them into a box. It was a bit of a rodeo.

There is a big 10 x 12 house available for them to explore and get comfortable in before I open the door to their coop. When they get big enough to fly out of their enclousre I can let them work things out with the existing hens while giving them free access to their house that has food and a safe place to roost. The hens I have now prefer to roost in a holly tree. I hope that this batch roosts in their house.

Way to hustle Liz. They look awesome.
The secret to learning how to fly is this, you must throw yourself at the ground and miss.

They start laying eggs between 7 and 8 months, But they don't live a long life. Mine live longer than most because I don't increase egg production throughout the year by using artificial lights.
