Default 20 gallon long QT tank

Hi- I’m getting a 20 galling long QT tank. I have everything but a heater and light. Can anyone recommend a reliable (not too expensive) LED light? Again just a QT tank in the basement so doesn’t need to be fancy. Thanks.

Not the best but you can't beat the price. I have several.

Thanks Liz- always a reliable source. Would you get that size light for a 30" long tank?

get the cheapest light you can for quarantine... you are going to run it as a spa anyway.... soft water... bit of salt... low light.... good heat...

Sponge filters should be coming soon. Would seeding them with beneficial bacteria in my primary tank’s sump defeat the purpose of preventing cross contamination in a QT tank?

Cross contamination can happen when you mix any aquatic living things from different sources (even water) into the same tank. It can be fish, shrimp, snails, plants or sponges etc. The point of having a quarantine tank is not having anything from an existing tank due to cross contamination.
