Default forgot to turn on filter for 3 days

2w old 30 gal w 2 discus cycled w fritz 7 I left the filter off after my first water change for 3 days (wont make that mistake again) and my nitrite and nitrate levels have spiked. No ammonia. I did a 30% water change and turned the filter back on. Should I do another 30% water change in a couple hours and test again?

Thanks this is my first discus tank.

If you can't move the fish to another do an 80% water change daily. It will help both the nitrate and nitrite get back into balance. Meth Blue helps a lot for nitrite poisoning. I've used a product from the LPS called Seachem Stability that I've cycled sterile tanks successfully. It might help in your case, too.

What I did so I don't forget I have the tank on a KASA power strip wifi enabled so if I turn the heater off I have a schedule on the strip to turn it on at 10 PM (past my bedtime during the week). It automatically turns it on if is off or not just my backup.
