Very nice tank with healthy discus. I love looking at other members' tanks. There really are many different ways other than BB to display these magnificent fish. Here is a vid of my lightly planted 110 g tall:
Out of just being bored today, I made this video on how my 125-gallon discus tank run. Please check the video if you are bored today too: https://youtu.be/1jEllSS7axo

I too love viewing other people's discus tanks, I just prefer bare bottom for the ease of maintenance. See I'm going on 73 yrs. of age and trying to keep things easy and simple. Tried sand a couple of times over the last ten years and just ended up removing it.
Pretty fish!
In your sump, what's the blue gray basket under the intake sponge/floss? Bio media of some sort?
Sorry, I am sump ignorant.
Also, when you vacuum the bottom do you move the pots/plants around or does it stay pretty clean under them since there's not any substrate to allow for debris to accumulate like there would be with gravel or sand?
I'm thinking of potting a few plants and wondering if that means I need to physically pick the thing up when I vac or not.

I have Seachem matrix bio-media in one basket and Ultimate bio-home in the bottom basket. I move the pots aside to siphon detritus, which very easy to keep tank bottom clean.
Here's an update on the tank, which I call the WOW effect, enjoy: https://youtu.be/lCjVJB7-DeM
