R.I.P. Blue Diamond

I went in to eat breakfast and feed the fish this morning, and my large Blue Diamond didn't show himself. I located him behind the Aquarium stand. He had jumped out of the tank overnight, and perished

I have a cover on-order from Clear View Lids, but it hasn't shipped yet. In the meantime, I had cut a large piece of plexiglass to use as a cover. It is hard to handle, and makes a mess when I take it off and put it back on. Consequently, I did not put it back on last night when I cleaned the tank. It was late ( I had family over all day yesterday) and I didn't want to fool with it. A decision I will regret. He was one that was pairing up with one of my Leopard discus.

Thanks Pat, just another hard lesson learned. Seems there are a lot of those with Disucs.

Sorry for your loss. I've had them jump through a 1" gap before and I was just lucky because I just happened to see the water on the wall where he glanced off it. I was lucky to save him after digging to the bottom of a junk tote...
