Metronizadole for Eliminating Ich
Last weekend I discovered that Ich/white spot had infested my tank and I looked back over my notes from circa 8 years ago when I last had a breakout and I used Metronizadole. With progress has anybody found a better way of dealing with the problem, and if not, what dosage is the optimum for eliminating the problem?

Heat alone will work if you don't want to use meds. Just make sure it never falls below 86 degrees for 5-6 days. Often gone in about 4 days. I've used this method and worked well. I've also used Metro like you and that worked. Most use malachite green and formalin (ich cure). Some use salt but not needed.

Make sure you're up past 30c and important that it doesn't fall down past 30c. In the hot summer months here, fish tanks can reach almost 90f. So you should be good for a few days. At first it might look as if it is getting worse, just give it a day or so and you'll see them improve.
