    Default Stendker Discus

Anyone wanting Stendker discus should act now before it's too late -

1965, the married couple Helga and Heinz Stendker laid the foundation stone for what would later contribute to the world of discusaquaristics. The brothers Jörg and Volker Stendker made the company what it is today, Europe's largest discus breed, known worldwide for its robust and beautiful animals.

The fact that the breeding of tropical orchid fish from the Amazon in Germany was economically possible is borders on a miracle. Yeah... it was economically possible.
The last few months have hit us hard, drastic increases in energy prices and significant losses in revenue have forced us to make a decision that we wouldn’t have thought possible even a few months ago. The closing of the discus breed.

We are expected to stop breeding on 31.08.2022 and sell the remaining stock by 31.12.2022. We will fight until the end to make sure all of our animals get a new home.

Also beyond 31.12.2022 we will produce our food, both the Good Heart, and the ORIGINAL STENDKER granules and continue to offer them through specialized trade.

We thank you for allowing us to make our hobby a profession and wish you a lot of fun with your STENDKER discus fishing.

    Warm greetings

    Family STENDKER

Darn, wonder what that means for Hans - he just moved fish houses.
And Stendker had been kind of re-working their website and I thought just started some new food.

Hans has had a big falling out with Stendker prior to this announcement. I believe he's already in contact with a different supplier. A pretty good one at that...

Got to have a talk with Hans I haven't been to his shop for a few months. I know he had intension's to move to Delaware and he even showed me the house he was looking at and it had a separate building for the fish.

Correction it looks like he moved already. I just sent him a message though his new web site.

Where did you see this article I can't get to Stendker web page but it might be blocked at my work.

I just looked up his new location and I am still at pickup distance 92 miles from my house 184 miles total or lets say $52 gas money at $5 a gallon.

The article was passed on to me. The original should be posted on their website but my security suite won't let me enter either.

I just also sent him an email to congratulate Hans in his new location and it looks like another warehouse stile like he had here in MD. I asked a a bunch of questions about his sources and if this article is correct let's see if he get's back to me. He use to be 20 miles from me so I would stop buy once and a wile but haven't been there in quite a wile. I though it was a few months but it must be 6 months and last emailed me when I got my Marlboros from a lfs that he deals with.

It is a shame but we had to know it was coming. First went the American breeders. Stop breeding now selling Asian imports. Now both Piwowarski and Stenker are packing it in. It’s an all Asian market now.

I think you can get Hans' discus at Super Cichlids in Dover, which is where he relocated to. I *think* they've got a section right in the shop, but I could be mistaken. Pretty sure I saw a video that he posted of that recently.

I know, he's right behind them and I'm about 99% sure he posted a video (within the last few days) of his fish in Super Cichlids. Let me see if I can find it.
