Hot water
So I have a source for “pure” metronidazole. I used it before and I didn’t think it looked like it was dissolving in water. Is it normal for pure metro to need to be dissolved in alcohol?
Hot water
I use hot water in a beaker filled half way stir (I use a lab magnetic stirrer) after a wile I add more hot water and keep stirring until is all clear.

Are we talking boiling hot? And is it normal for it to be kinda waxy and clumpy. Almost alittle moist looking?
What brand are you using? I use pure metro from ARG and it's water soluble.
No idea what the brand is. All I know is my supplier gets it from a vet and they said I may need alcohol to dilute it. I ordered it before but it didn’t seem to work perhaps due to me not diluting it correctly?
I got mine from Jack Wattley and I use to get it from Myrtle Beach Discus (Hexa X) both dissolve in warm water but I do it in two stages like described on my above post. JW was a bit cheaper for 50 grams than MB.

I just dumped mine into the stream toward end of water change and it disappears so fast I was shocked.
I know pure praziquantel needs alcohol to dissolve.

I do the same but before dumping the metro is soak in fish food.

When you dissolve pills in water, you see “white snow”. This is not the metro, it’s the inert compounding agent and filler.
In the hospital, nurses reconstitute the metro with water and then hang the bag for an IV drip.
