    Default My 40-Gallon Breeder Tank

I had an empty 40-gallon breeder tank sitting empty from an abanded Anxoic Filtration project sitting around collecting dust. Since my 53rd wedding anniversary was coming up the wifey said okay for an discus purchase. Placed an order on Sat.,8/20/22 from Discus Hans USA. Here's what went down after that:

    1. Set up the tank with some tank water from my 125-gallon discus tank and filled up the rest with tap water and added Seachem safe. Set temp to 84F.
    2. Next took bio-media from my 125-gallon discus tank sump and configured the Eheim 2217 canister filter.
    3. On Mon., 8/22/22 did a water test; Ammonia= 0ppm, Nitrite=0ppm, Nitrate=10ppm. Okay good to go instant tank cycled.
    4. On Tue., 8/23/22 fish were scheduled to arrive but were delayed en route due to FedEx misroute sorting.
    5. On Wed., 824/22 finally received the fish. OH no, one fish is in bad shape (Flachen)and expired in my tank Thur., 8/25/22. All others are just fine.
    6. Received replacement fish on Tue., 8/30/22, the day of my anniversary!

I would definitely like to give a great big shout-out to Hans for excellent and above customer service. I have a great feeling about these fish and they're doing just fantastic so far. I got five 3" consisting of Cobalt, Fire Red, Santarem, Flachen, and Dark Angel. Check out a recent video today of these guys: https://youtu.be/n7nvjU114CU

A shout out to Simply Discus sponsors! You just won't find this quality at local fish stores - even at much higher prices.
At my age, everything is irritating.
