You should have space for a shoal but QT QT QT even tetras
In my 5x2x2 biotope which is barebottom and mature with a jbl 1501 canister, an overtop filter with media,pothos,...the tank has presently 5 discus blue turquoise size all about 3.5 inch from mouth to end of tail fin. Besides this there are about 6 hockey stick tetras,6 black neon and about 12 corydoras mixed panda and sterbai. Ammonia 0,nitrite 0 and nitrate around 25 ppm. So I did a 40% water change. The tank has few anubias attached to drift wood. How many neon tetras can I add in one shot and can the tank 5ake a few more corydoras. One pet shop had blue botia and they looked amazing. Can I add a shoal of them.

Blue Botia are too aggressive for discus and are nocturnal. I had one in a community tank once a long time ago and it wreaked havoc, especially at night.
A month old thread and probably OP already got Neons, however please lemme chime in my 2c.
Always, always go for Cardinal i stead of Neon. They are way tougher and more temperature compatible to discus than Neon. I’ve tried Neon many times (cos they are obviously cheaper than Cards, you know) and they didn’t do well. More importantly, if they do well, it means the temp is kinda on lower side for discus, which should be your primary concern.
Water change is not just a chore, it's my life now...
Well yes and old thread. But these days neons and cardinals both don’t do well and next being small tetras many end up as snacks. So you want to qt them till they’re healthy before your discus eat them . Rummie noses do seem to be the best choice.
Rummy nose tetras are one of my favorites and agree over Cardinals. The German tank bred Cardinals are a bit hardier but their extra expense is hard to swallow. Another Tetra I've had excellent luck with are Red Eyed Tetras. They also hold up well to the heat in my experience.
Agreed and I have both Rummy (30s) and Cardinal (100--).
Rummy won't get eaten and tough, however additional colors from a big shoal of Cardinals is kinda my thing, so there's that.
My Cardinals didn't get eaten, tho, most of their deaths were overeating->obesity.
Also, of course, not for discus purists.

All my cardinals and neons died or were eaten off
I tried rummynose they were a great look but my angels picked them off
Whelp.. My plans for Cardinal Tetra has changed after reading this thread :P
