I would recommend to visit Aquameister in Tokyo.
They have really nice there own blue discus strain and some other old strains from Japan.

My royal type F1 2 years and 10 days from hatch.

I expect (and hope) it's male but can't very sure.
What is your thought sbout this specimen?

I'm far from being the best at telling what makes a fish high quality, so I'd be happy with that fish.

The only critique I have of it, is the forehead is not a smooth curve from mouth to top of the body - there looks like a small indent on the forehead directly across from the eyes. But that's the only thing I could really find after a quick 2-minute look over. I'm sure the more experienced folks with breeding and quality may be able to provide a better assessment than my novice one.

As I'm sure you know, there's no way to tell for sure until breeding time, but I'm afraid my feeling is that he's a lady fish. I hope I'm wrong. I only have a 50% chance of being right.

Update two of my best F1.

And thanks LizStreithorst, i doubt this royal as female now because of it's behaviors.
So maybe I need to back-cross this specimen with wild male too (the one i paired with another F1 now) because that's my only male fish and I can't find any wild male with acceptable quality these days in my place.
