The Asorbic Acid molecule bonds to the Chlorine/Chloramine and makes a neutral.

This is a USDA recommendation. They recommend if one has a cistern for drinking water to put bleach in the cistern to keep bad bacteria from growing, and then vitamin C to remove the bleach and make the water drinkable.
Thanks, but Prime works just fine

Why would you pull the oyster shells. They’re just in there to help keep the pH stable. Without it, the pH can go from 7.0 to 6.5 overnight.

    UPDATE:

Well, here it is guys. Everything went great with the little 32G grow out, now it’s on to the 75G. Nearly cycled in 6 days…ammonia 0, nitrite .5, nitrates 10. Sump is filled with bioballs and ceramic media. Discus growing at a great rate.ED56C1D0-73E0-4221-8B5F-423E44F4CEC3.jpeg
