Again, I'm not stumping for this page or the authenticity... I don't know if it's fake, but it's certainly a play on the old fisherman's trick of holding the fish closer to the camera. The wrist on the hand holding the fish is pretty significantly bigger. The holes in the net around the fish are clearly much closer to the camera than the other parts of the net.

Yeah, I guess those are somewhat large fish, lol. Do know if Al got his Red Snakes from the same supplier? They look very similar.

Mine from Al is so similar in shape and is also a large (not giant) fish. It's unlikely but you never know.

The breeders take the best and largest fish they have and feed them with testosterone to make them even bigger.

Some will also do this when they are small to help boost size for a quicker sale. Unfortunately, it can also cause premature death. That's what I suspect about this guy. He died at 18 months old (suspected heart attack??) and measured 8 3/8". I did measure him but I wasn't in the mood to remember the camera. He was my favorite but his growth was not natural.

Color sells without testosterone most Discus will not color up till they are almost adults if they live that long.

Quite a long while ago I scooped one of the biggest of mine and put it on a dinner plate, it was 6.25"ish (optimistically 6.5" at best) and it was already HUGE from my perspective.

Internet 8" aside, actual 8" would be humongous/kek
