Well what I do is put a fish net over the output. This catches 90% of the stuff. Next you can remove the output hose and run a wire brush through the hose than rinse out with water and reinstall.
After cleaning out the filter it throws a load of detritus into the tank when it restarts itself, I assume this is all from the tubing. It is quickly sucked back into the filter and the water is clean again but looks horrendous for 5-10mins.
Does anyone have any tips on how to stop this or how to easily remove it from the tubing?
