Made comfort food.... fried Dough.. stuffed fried dough.. and stuffed fried "Dough"-Nuts. Made the dough by hand and.. so good and I even put tomato sauce on it to make it healthy.

I've never had much or any trouble with tomato blight. But I usually mulch under the plants quite heavily with grass clippings, which keeps soil from splashing up on the bottom leaves. Which is something I understand to be a pretty big concern for blight.

I didn't get this done today, but on Sunday I did a different sequence of water change routine and ended up with my valves messed up. Normally I cannot start a siphon through the pump... but on Sunday it started just fine. So I drained about 60-65 gallons of water onto the basement floor though the pump. Which was fun. Thankfully it's just mostly bare concrete.
My resealed 29 gallon has been holding water going on three days now, so I think that was a success. I've got another pair of Apistogrammas coming that I won in a giveaway on another forum.

Today I am spending your tax dollars for parts and pieces to keep a hydro-electric dam running (McNary Dam on the Columbia River), until 3:00 pm today.
I will also get some laundry done since I am busy and out of the house tomorrow.
While I am working I will watch the Discus and Altum angels in the tank.

Yesterday a female Super Red Apistogram was pushing one of the discus around.

ATM, Im Sitting in a hospital parking lot waiting for a family member to get done with their Hospital appointment.... 3 hr round trip..2 hrs wait. .. get home in time to hit the post office and do somewater changes. My kid brother comes over on his days off for dinner and movies..thats tonight... have to still figure out what I am making.

Kind of a slow paced day here today.

discovered I lost a discus. I think it jumped and hit the tank lid. All the other discus and angels in the tank look healthy, are eating well (even begging for food), hunting the bladder snails.

I am seeing some discussions between discus with fin shimmering, color changing, and mild chasing. I think these juveniles are maturing. I am also seeing growth.

It hasn't been an easy day so far. Last night I discovered that one of my dogs was probably hit by the delivery man from Amazon. It wasn't his fault. My little yappers are good at not being hit. She must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

My vets know that I'm pretty much broke so they took it easy on me even though I didn't ask. Fish sales paid for an ultrasound, pain meds, antibiotics, and a cream to put on her external wounds. I already had the cone of shame I had to put on her. I can't believe what a different dog she was when I took her in and had to carry her to when I picked her up after she'd had a dose of pain meds. She ate for them, she was happy and tail wagging.

The thing is that she hasn't peed or pooped since yesterday afternoon. I took her out before the critters and I climbed into bed. I had to carry Pip. The techs took her out to see if she'd pee but she didn't. When I got her home, walking and wagging again I let her have time to pee if the wanted to. She didn't. But she did drink from the water bowl as soon as I got her home. Maybe she doesn't have any pee in her because she didn't drink when she was in pain. If she at least pees today we're almost home free. If I see her poop (I'll fill the fat thing full of canned food.) my problems will be over. If not, there will be an internal injury and I can't afford surgery.

I hope that my friends here will hope for the best. All I can do is give her love, meds, wet food, and hope for the best. She's a very sweet dog who loves everyone and thinks that life is all about giving kisses and being petted in return.

Liz pain meds can slow down bowel movements alot... maybe thats the reason here.. talk to your vet about laxatives ..maybe that may help get things moving. Did they see any broken bones?
