Hey if you have already then why not use it right?

I don't know why it took me so long to break out the UV filter, but it is a 16W Coralife UV filter that has been sitting new in box in my closet for over 10 years.
The installation was super easy.

right? I bought it originally to combat new tank syndrome.... I was growing black beard algae and a green hair algae.
I occasionally get a green algae in pre-filters and wood, but it is very manageable, and I notice the fish eating it.
I am having trouble keeping Apistograms, and I understand they are way finicky on water quality so why not add another help to good water other than a 30-50% water change weekly

I put an inline 57 watt UV about 6 months ago in my 200.
Since, the water has been crystal clear with no nuisance algae.
I also have to change the filter socks every other day instead of twice a day.
It’s overkill, but I got a great deal on it
