I put a bug zapper on a plate in the house, and occasionally dump the plate in the aquarium.

Absolutely. I started doing it for the hatchet fish. The bugs float for a while kind of like the freeze dried blackworms

The thing about those zappers is that they attract bugs so they're better when placed farther from the house. If I'm gonna use the dead bugs for fish food, I want it close to the house so it's handy. I'm still thinking about trying it, though. I have lots of skeeters during the warm months outside the fishroom.
