Hi Al,
The first batch that I pulled out, still had a small yolk sac attached to them. It was a little black dot in their abdomen. But, most of them didn;t even become free swimming.
This time I am letting the fry stay with the parents longer before I pull them out. Thanks to my pairs that they have not stopped laying eggs. They continue to lay eggs that keep hatching.
I am also about to pull out one of the two pairs and put them in a separate tank. This 210 gallon tank will be given just to one bigger pair that lays more # of eggs and have a better hatch rate as well.
I am hoping that at that time, the pair might allow the fry to stick to them.
