    Default The Vacay Thread...

I know that alot of you rely on your phones as cameras or if you use a DSLR you don't consider yourself a photographer, or that your pics are good enough to post. This thread is for you.... a place to post your vacation pics..regardless of how you took them or if they are technically not Great images by National Geographic standards... but by vacay standards... they are awesome. They show memories... I invite you all all to submit vacation pics, trips, holidays, anything... just to share..maybe inspire someone to visit there,

I will start off with last trip to Old Quebec , last year. What a really beautiful place steeped in history and just a fun tourist spot. I hope you enjoy them..

Looks like some really great memories there Tom, Thanks for sharing! I love the character and architecture. I do not usually think of Iris Pubs being found in Germany! But I do like Guiness immensely!

Pat it’s got its pro and cons. Great way to see bits and pieces of Europe. The Viking ship treats you like royalty. They know your name and room number day one. Food was great and I mean great. Try the veal!! (And I’m here all week lol!). If you drink get the silver package. The alcohol never stops. It’s not an ocean cruse. Only around 190 people on board. No pool or any entertainment spots. There is a lounge where you can hang out with other guests and a piano player.

So the entertainment is tours. There are guided tours everyday and for extra there there are other tours. So many days you have 2 tours. Guides were great and there were a lot. They break the groups into about 15 people. With different speeds. So if you’re not up to a lot of walking one day you can ask to be put in a slower tour. So many churches to see! All so old!07E3B0F4-F8D7-43E8-A960-22D550416B03.jpg23D5B014-83C3-4555-A7E9-88B687FCB688.jpg6A6F3B97-B20D-4EFA-827B-16E43011B5EB.jpg25926786-B22A-4A8C-9BB4-76DC2733BAFA.jpg72118CA0-8ABE-4C06-A2FA-0867064B1C3B.jpg047FBC75-DCEA-43B8-8F9D-EE1BD7DA866A.jpgECD2D597-463D-4579-B676-D02B6C83488E.jpg. Yes I’ve got more!! And interiors! Just amazing what’s in these churches.

I like to travel quite a bit. The problem is I always forget to take pictures, not even of my food, lol... But, here are a few I took when I traveled to Ukraine, Russia and Romania a few years ago.

This church was less than a year old. Beautiful! Unfortunately, it's gone now...
    Ukraine 1.jpg

This is a map of the old Kharkov city center that dates back to the 1600's. The "19" is my hotel.
    Ukraine 3.jpg

All the individual city blocks were constructed as castle type fortresses to help repel invading army's. I guess it doesn't work too well against missiles and tanks.
    Ukraine 6.jpg

One of my beautiful hotel rooms
    Ukraine 7.jpg

Had to maintain my energy level for hiking around the cities
    Ukraine 5.jpg

My room mate. I wanted to bring him home with me but he never would have made it in one piece
    Ukraine 2.jpg

Interesting guttering system. The water runs off the buildings and into these little channels and into the street, causing massive ice buildups in the streets during winter, lol...

One day the water was so high we couldn’t go to the city we were supposed to so they put us in the town of Worms. There was a bus to take us to the city but they said we could walk aroundWorms and it was a Sunday and everything was closed in the city. So we decided to walk through Worms. It was. A Sunday and there were at least 4 churches. Listen to this video

Tom, Is the Viking Ship for older adults with no kids only?

Yes nobody younger than 19. Some pics of the shipD35978CF-5949-4A64-AA70-3A9AE1EE4A20.jpg8B562FDD-0A6D-4CB3-96E6-05153EAC8129.jpg4008120B-B451-4FC0-8FFE-D5FFF4116717.jpg095A7661-F65F-4938-945B-2F719D329451.jpg. Just some random pics I took that show the ship. The open chairs was the upper deck. There was a putting green up there. Being we went in May it was cooler out. So not many were ever on the deck. But being cooler was a plus. Everything was comfortable. Remember AC ain’t that popular in Europe. 243B23F9-6D0B-4675-B786-C9328AE8B43B.jpg last. Pic was the bar in the lounge.
