Hi all,
We have some great news. In a brain storming season the forum staff came up with an idea to have another contest. We did this type of contest back in 2018.

This time around we are looking to offer a prize of Discus in the USA and we will come up with an alternative for non US customers. I can't give you more information on the fish yet but will as soon as we can. What I liked about this type of contest is it gives everyone an equal opportunity here and your fish keeping skills aren't what determines your standing in the contest.. Its more about how share your hobby here.

From the 2018 contest...
This contest is a classic story book contest. The goal is for members to share their fish keeping stories and hobby with fellow hobbyists here over a 3 month time period. SimplyDiscus will create a special forum section for this to occur in. A member may start up to 3 threads that follow a particular tank of fish they keep It can be Discus or non Discus but must be Fresh water. It can be a grow out tank, a breeding pair, planted or invertebrate tank. It can also be an experimental tank where you are doing something different. There is no set posting requirements but understand that the more you post the better the chance you will win as the contest will be judged by the forum members based on how interesting, informative or just plan cool it is. Basically members will pick the winners by who has shared their hobby best. At judging time we provide some general guidelines for what members should consider.

There is no cost to enter. There will be cash prizes and international members are encouraged to participate. The prize can be sent via paypal or wired.

The Rules:
1) No off site linked images. You must use the forum software to post the pictures.This will ensure we have this contest saved on our server.
2) You are allowed 1 video per week, a maximum of 8 Videos total . You do not need to use Videos at all
3) Discussions are encouraged, you must be willing to respond to inquiries
4) You are allowed up to 3 threads detailing a specific tank of fish. Once a thread is started you can not change it. A member may start up to 3 threads that follow a particular tank of fish they keep It can be Discus or non Discus but must be Fresh water. It can be a grow out tank, a breeding pair, planted or invertebrate tank. It can also be an experimental tank where you are doing something different.
5) Contest enrollment period is today (June 8,2018) thru June 15, 2018. No additional entries can be made after this 1 week window.
6) You agree by participating in this contest that you will abide by the rules and should there be any issues that arise you accept the forum's decisions in these and contest matters.

So here is a great opportunity to join a contest where all you have to do is post about your hobby.. We will probably refine these rules and the contest abit but I wanted to give you a chance to preview it. I would also like to gauge the interest here.. Wow, I thought I wrote more (...laughing my butt off...). I don't care if it's just me, because you know darn well I can create mild controversy ("mild" because of my pre-disclosures of "set the bar low for my dumba-- ;P", being brutally honest on my results (I'm a sucker for honest lessons learned... even when I'm punching MYSELF in the balls by being so honest), sometimes this blind-squirrel gets luck finds nut,
And above all else... <sinister 5th grade boy laugh>... I looooove giving the mods a bit of anxiety by wondering "Sh+#... Pastry's on... WTH 'adjectives', colorful verbs, and bluel analogies will we have to bleep out this time?"

Not yet.. we are trying to drum up and gauge interest while we plan. We will definitely post when its sign up time.

Im really hoping we get so.e strong interest as it makes these contests much more fun.

It's a special blend of Vitamins, Al It is actually managed by Artificial Intelligence which has a primary potocol of "Crap, we're never going to balance this human out... what concoction is necessary this time?
