    Default Its a Bugs world

I will never understand why Insects, spiders, and related critters get so much hate. These critters though different from us, really are amazing and interesting to watch. The warmer months here bring so many opportunities to discover these creatures with out needing to travel miles and miles. I do help by trying to maintain areas that are oasis for them.

So, are you a bug lover or hater? Hope you can appreciate these criiters for the interesting creatures they are. They fit into our world in very important ways.

Thanks Pat, These images were taken handheld with my Pentax K1 using a 100 mm Macro 2.8mm lens. Most are shot at F10-F11 and the camera is Full Frame.

    The forum is Buggy, Al.

    Great shots.

I chose to carefully spray a paper wasp nest instead of photographing the wasps this morning.

Thanks Dave , but... you are supposed to photo first then spray if necessary.

    Heres a couple more...

This one is a very interesting critter... It almost looks like a mantis as it has sickle shaped front arms, but its an assassin bug...its blends in and waits until a fly or bee or other tasty morsel comes to the flower. It blends in so well, its not seen until too late..

Today's installment of "Its a Bugs World" brought to you by SimplyDiscus.

Ants farming Aphids... They farm them for drops of sweet liquid the aphids make and also to just eat the aphids.

    Guard is checking Credentials...

Do I know You? by Al Sabetta, on Flickr

The ants will attack anything that is a threat to this herd of aphids..If they recognize it as a threat. But in this herd there is a wolf hiding among the sheep....A fly larvae is feasting on Aphids right under the ants watchful eyes.

In other areas the Milkweed tussock caterpillars are at an standstill as the bridge is out due to their over eating.
