My big SS looks off this morning!

It looks pinched behind the gut, is wriggling head down on the spot, and I just noticed it upright and all of a sudden the top fin fell over and it was side swimming.

Is something wrong with it?

It does look a bit off, like it's struggling to stay upright. Try some epsom salts at 1TBS per 10g and see if this helps. Hopefully it's just a little constipation and not the beginning of an infection...

I will go get the epsom salts shortly. I have also just added a small cycled filter with carbon to rid the water from the gill flukes medication I added 6 days ago....

Will the carbon effect the use of the epsom salts Jeep? Thank you for your reply!

Carbon should not have any effect on epsom salts. Good luck and keep us updated!

Ok, the tank has been dosed with 5 table spoons of Epsom salts, fingers crossed!

It does look stressed in the video! Stress bars showing! How is your water? No ammonia or nitrite? He does look off! Wonder if it the first med you used is just bothering it? Doesn’t look constipaded.

Yes, it was very stressed! Water parameters are good. I also think is was the fluke meds, that's why I put the carbon filter in there this morning...

He is now looking good, not struggling to stay upright, no stress bars, eating, swimming well and fending for himself. But, there is still pinching behind his guts along his body.. We will see what the morning brings! At this stage I believe the Epsom salts worked

Side note: Both the PBs have been removed from the discus tank and into the 40g, with a high chance of never returning to the others. Their bully behaviour will not be tolerated, so they are under house arrest for the foreseeable future.

Yes they were, 2 days after the first 3..

I don't have an update at the moment, its only 2am here, the house is still in darkness..
