My photo buddy and I were at JoeOverstreet Rd and the barn swallows were flying low thru the cows eating bugs the cows kicked up. This is just a fun shot that I liked.

Neat picture Pat! Our swallows here are currently getting ready to migrate. Its all moving a bit faster than normal in the northeast this year. Our purple Martins left a few weeks early. Our other swallows have already started grouping together in their huge flocks (murmuration).

We have had unusual heat this past week and I havent been out to the shore in the last week but migration has definitely started already.. Im hoping to get out today fir a bit.

Thanks Al Interesing that your swallows and Martins are migrating early. Does that imply an early winter? Hope you get out to the shore, sounds like fun

I did get out for a few hours.. it was hot and muggy.. no breeze which this time of year here makes for little bird activity. Nothing beasts a crisp day with a slight breeze to get the birds active this time of year.

I literally saw no swallows.. last week there were thousands.. they must have moved south already.

We normally have a few herons and egrets year round at the park.. This time of year if you time the tides right you can sometimes see dozens feeding together. Today they heard the eels were in the marsh and there was about 40 I counted.

I had the place to myself for once so spent a few hours there.. just me the birds , mosquitoes and no-see-um.

Light was a bit gray but I believe I did ok.. I will know latter when I go.through them.

    Heres a quick phone pic..
