    Default Gradually increasing water tds

The domestic discus strains from lfs are kept in water tds of around 60. If one buys discus kept at tds of around 60 and very very gradually over a period of few weeks do water changes and increase the tds to about 300 will the discus be stressed.

No they will not be stressed. Tds changes are well tolerated by discus. Its not uncommon for those breeding discus to play around with tds using ro water to trigger breeding.. Going from 60 to 300 should not be a problem.

What discus does stress discus out though are larg3 swings in pH/ alkalinity.

I kept my 4 new discus in QT in two separate tanks at a TDS of 70 for the 3 weeks on the 4th I added my normal tank water TDS 220 to one of the tanks at water changes. The first 2 discus went into the community tank at a 220 - 250 TDS. no issues. The other 2 discus are nursing the fry still at 70 TDS in the other tank.
