Is the wood finished at all Al or is it raw wood? Wondering how constant water exposure to the wood handle would affect it in the long run.

To me the one I got looks like a thin coat of vanish.

It is coated as Chuck says . I just hang it up to dry after eavh use. The wood ones I had in the past lasted a really long time...years actually.
