    Default Auto Feeders

Just a curious question for people who have auto feeders which ones on the market do you like best? I will be on another cruise at the end of January and want a dependable one while gone for a week. By the way hello from Hawaii, will get home Thursday morning.

I had good results using the Eheim auto feeder, EHEIM TWINfeeder
Automatic feeder with 2 separate chambers for different types of food.

I've never had much use for auto feeders but the one Francis mentioned is used by one of my customers. They put a mix of flakes and loose blackworms and supposedly it worked great for them.

Most of the time if I am away for a week I dont feed the adults at all during that time. If I have juvenile discus I preweigh baggies of food for our pet sitter or a family member to feed.

I have this feeder and the advantage that it's WIFI so you can activate from any ware you have internet service. But I don't use anymore since my pet sitter lives next door and her daughter loves taking care of my fish. If I go away for a week, I have her feed every other day and I leave her portions measured out for each feeding.

Mine actually is a Ilanda and will be good to use feeding fry at a stage they can eat pellets and black worms for fry. I do work full time so extra feedings can be done wile I am at work. I also have surveillance cameras to verify.

This is USB charged. It's better than the battery operated models.

I just ordered yesterday a new fish feeder by Hygger with integrated camera. I figured that when I get the juveniles from Tom I will need to feed several times a day and I can can do this from work wile observing them. They had a $30 & $6 coupon so that made the difference. They had same feeder with no brand cheaper but after the coupons the price was a little lower.

I don't want to thread hijack, but the camera on that is interesting, I'd love to know how you get on with it

Just to provide another feeder to look at, this is the one that I use (I'm UK based so not sure on availability over the water). It's been rock solid for me, app works well, and I get messages to confirm the feed was delivered. It's unbelievably quiet in use too.

I cannot imagine paying that much for an auto feeder when a $30. one works just fine. I used the Ehiems for years. They never failed me.
