    Default Free axolotl eggs

    Hi all,
This kind of doesn't fit anywhere on the forum so I will put it here. We are entering the time of year where my axolotls will be breeding .. I have alot of Adults here..which means alot of eggs. If anyone wants to try their hand at these let me know and I can mail you some eggs. .. please double check if your state allows them..I can not and will not ship to California, Maine, New Jersey, and D.C., a permit is required in New Mexico and Hawaii.

My axolotls are not glow in the dark.. eggs you receive will give you wild type browns, leucistic, and a good chance for coppers.

If interested let me know... and as soon as I have a batch ready I can ship.

If you can keep discus alive Axolotls will be no problem...

Once hatched you will need to live feed baby brine shrimp...
And then can wean to chopped up frozen bloodworms or live Blackworms or best still my discus chow frystarter which is what I use here (no bloodworms or live blackworms needed..regardless of what websites say)

Very interesting critters. Research them and let me know.

These are free.. you just pay actual shipping.

These guys breed like crazy here in my tap water. Since eggs are fertilized internally hard water doesnt seem to matter at all.

Now I pull the pair to a new tank and hatch eggs in this tank.

I thought that they were super cool when you talked about them a while back. In fact, I googled around for more info on them. Al, I'd take you up on it in a minute but the last thing I need at this point is a new project.

Lol.. if you change your mind let me know. Depending on your area Liz, Local Petshops are always looking for Axolotls .

One thing about these guys I really like... They don't care about being on the bottom tank in a rack... I have my Discus eye level and axolotls below. They also don't need lights and They eat pellets . The only thing you really can't do is keep them with fish. Too small and they eat them..too big and the fish tend to pick at their gills and tail.

67 F is what my large tank is at now.. In the summer it can be a bit warmer as its my fishroom. Ideally they should be cooler...58-68 is thrown around. They do like it cooler but I can tell you the upper range is not as clear cut. My pairs in their rack are at 71.6 right now...and breeding.mMy sons pair are in his bedroom are several years old. We don't have central ac.. we have window units we put in. His room is definitely now in the ideal range . They become more susceptible to disease as the temp goes up..so water quality is very important as you push the upper levels... sound like any other critter you know where water quality helps them deal with less than ideal issues?
