Thats awesome liz! Congrats!

I don't know how long I've been struggling to get a decent spawn from any of my 3 pairs. Pat, I know it has been so long that you no longer cross body parts for me since it's futile. I've even been keeping my mouth shut whenever I have a spawn. Nothing ever comes of it and people get tired reading about failure after failure.
Until this morning. This morning I woke up to close to 200 new free swimmers covering the sides of a very content number 1 pair!

That's a big spawn. Congratulations!!
Good news, Liz!
Congratulations Liz, please post photos of the parents with fry.

Awesome!!!! Never give up…
Thanks for the congratulations gentlemen. I'm still on pins and needles that the pair will continue to dote on the kids rather than eat them
Francis, as tiny as the fry are and as dark as the parents are pics would be impossible even if I could. I started having problems with my camera and could no longer take pics. Al came to the rescue but the stuff he's sending me won't be here till Monday. I'll take pics as soon as I can.

Great news Liz’s! 200 wow that’s a lot! Mine were 26 and that’s seems like a huge amount. Really have no clue what would happen if I had 200! I’m hoping if it ever happens again they keep the amount small!. Good luck and waiting for pics. And if possible a journal on how you raise them.
Dibs on the first pick.
Don't hold me to the 200, please. But I had even larger spawns years ago. 200 was my guess, but some will be culls, and since this pair is het for albino, 1/4 of them will be albino. The poor albinos are blind. They never find the parents and just swim around aimlessly until they die of starvation.

Liz, I never uncrossed everything. Congrats and hope the current trend continues.

Congratulations Liz. You've been waiting on this for a while. Wishing you the best with these.
I had to put mom in jail yesterday. She not only decided that she didn't care much for having babies, she hated them so much that she scarfed a ton o them. I wondered what was going on when I looked at the tank and there were babies swimming together at the top of the tank along one of the sides. The poor babies were terrified! Since mom has gone the kids are back on dad's side.
