    Default Avian Reconditioning Center Workshop

The Avian Reconditioning Center (ARC) (https://arc4raptors.org/) is a bird of prey rehabilitation and education facility located near me. A local guy who does workshops does three workshops at the end of the year where the ARC staff brings out the birds under their care and set them in a natural settings and we get to photograph them and listen to the story behind the bird. The bird are in prime condition the handlers really some to care about and have a relationship with the birds. It was a unique experience and I complimented the staff on the condition and handling of their birds.

I am working thru the photos now and will post photos as I go.

We starting as soon as we had enough light and the owls were first. This is Ms "P" who is a Barred Owl. She was found as a fledgling and became imprinted on people after spending time in another facility. She kept looking behind where she was perched as there were little birds moving on the underbrush.

Beautiful images of some very beautiful owls Pat. Its not often we are afforded closeup opportunities in a controlled setting like that. Almost like studio shots. Love them all!..particularly the barred owl.

Exactly Al and I was amazed on the pristine condition of the feathers with each bird. It was very apparent staff at the ARC truly cared for the birds and you could see the relationship between some of the birds and the staff. I would volunteer there if it was closer to me.

Beautiful Falcon Pat. I see these rarely in my area, but did get a few so-so shots of an immature 2 weeks ago. Haven't processed them yet but I doubt they will be as clear and crisp as yours! I was in the car, shooting up a tree.
