My photo buddy Susan and I went to a local park where the sandhills are known to roost in the shallows of East Lake Toho in the Fall/Winter time. When we arrived at first we saw no birds so prepared to take the sunset as the colors were really nice and then some magic happened.

Nothing worth doing is ever easy...
Gorgeous! We get some sandhills migrating through here and possibly even breeding here. I hear them pretty often in the spring and occasionally in the fall. I love listening to their calls.
