Wood Canopy For a 40 Breeder

Hi All,

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!

I just bought a 40 breeder and thinking to get a oak wood canopy. My cat is 10 lb boy and broke the glass top of my 20g. So I want to get wood canopy for my 40g and strong enough to support cat's weigh if he jumps on it.

I've also searched online and didn't find any wood canopy for sale for a 40g breeder.

I don't think you will find one. Canopies are usually made for bigger tanks/ dispay tanks. A 40 breeder is just to short a tank for one . Unfortunately your best bet is a millwork shop or diy .

Another alternative is a glass shop and have a piece of 1/4" plate glass made to fit.. I have a few pieces here I use on some of my tanks and theres no way a cat can break that.

You can get stand and canopy but the price is high. Maybe there are some cheaper alternatives out there.

I would go DIY the canopy should be and easy build.
