Default not able to feed fish

I will be going into the hospital this Mon. for a total knee replacement. They are down in my basement
and I'm not sure how long I will be unable to use stairs. I'm hoping a week but I just don't know I'm doing a 95% w/c tomorrow on both tanks
and not feeding. I don't have anybody to feed them, so the question is how long can they go before any serious damage is done?

At the age yours are they can go way longer than a week. Give them their last feedings on Sunday followed my another big WC and turn off the tank lights. They'll be fine.

Everyone I know who has a knee replacement says their's was a great success. Good luck. Let us know when you get home, and updates on how you're doing.

Jay, everyone I know with them were up and about within hours doing stairs... hopefully yours goes smoothly! I agree with Liz if you have to ignore them a week or so they will be fine. If for some reason you run into complications let me know... your arent that far away. Good luck!

A week is no big deal. It also becomes a good time to introduce a new food.
Good luck with your knee! My mom has had both of hers done and it's been great.

Thank you all for the info and support.Unfortunately I had a bad accident Sat. night and was unable to have the
operation. I slipped on a wet bathroom floor and hit my face on a small garbage pail, the ones with the foot pedal cover
opener. I fractured a bone in my face and broke my nose. Spent from midnight Sun. to Wed pm in the hospital.
I will schedule it after the New year.
Have a merry and blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
