This is what I use but it looks like HD may not be carrying it any longer but Lowes does. $6 for 40lbs can't be beat! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Diamond-...2454/100172669

    Hi Al and friends,
Some recovered some didn’t. It’s been over 10 days so out of mercy I euthanized my original blue diamond, turq, eruption and flora. A few more don’t look great. I’m going to just watch them for now. The nitrifuranzone is delayed… it was supposed to be delivered on Friday. So frustrated.

It’s quite sad let alone the money.

    Hi Mike,

Sorry for your loss…. I understand exactly what you are going thru, i am going thru the same thing this now. The stress of seeing them sick, let alone having to euthanize your fish is the worse thing ever. I hope the remaining fish recover.

I cannot stop thinking why I did what I did. One stupid decision is enough to kill your fish.

It’s awful. 3 out of 11 are healthy. 3 are still sickly. Doing daily 70-80% water changes on 180 gal is not fun!

I wish the dang nitrifuranzone would have come in time. I even paid for rushed shipping. 2.5 years of keeping discus- I’m much more knowledgeable and can get quality discus, but it’s just devastating. I really liked my group and now I’m down to 6. I have 3 in QT that lead to the cross-contamination. It’s so frustrating. I suspect I’m going to need to euthanize 2 more….

    Mike,
There isnt a discus keeper out there that has been in this awhile that hasn't been in your shoes, myself included. Its a horrible thing to watch tanks crash and not be able to save them.

It didnt help that the meds you ordered didn't get here on time. But sometimes even if we start treating promptly with something we think will work...it doesn't. That was the problem here. At the end of the day we do the best we can to figure out whats going on with our fish and it fails. Sometimes its just too late or just bad luck.

You are a great discus keeper. Your tank was spotless and your fish were cared for excellently. This loss is terrible..but you will get through it Mike.

I've used plain table salt, with mynute amount of iodine in it. Iodine can be found in some fish treatments. Seems to be harmless with the small amount de-caking agents and iodine in the table salt. https://www.sera.de/us/service/info/...al-substances/
