    Default Wild Discus breathing heavy

Hi, I have a wild discus that used to be very active and thick. Suddenly, a month back it developed rapid breathing. I suspected gill fluke and treated with PP solution. It did not minimize the symptoms much. It still is breathing heavily. I have treated 3 times with potassium permanganate now. I have another wild discus with it which has normal breathing . I am suspecting maybe there is a different issue but not able to figure out. I have treated with Flubendazole internally as well. Have started metro treatment 2 days back since it is not eating.
All parameters are same since 8 months. Almost daily water change, full oxygen, etc. I am suspecting he ate something not intended but I cannot relate to heavy breathing.

    Any pointers will be appreciated.

    Thanks

What parameters are the same for eight months and what are those parameters exactly?
I am by no means and expert, but PP seems wildly overused to me. I think it's easy to do permanent damage with PP. Is it just this one discus in the tank? Any other fish or discus? Any of them with symptoms? What is an almost daily water change and how big are the water changes?

    8. What type/brand water conditioner do you use? Do you add it to the tank or aging barrel? How much do you use?

Pictures and a video would help. As stated pp isn’t a cure all. It may have done more damage to the gills. Next after the first treatment didn’t work why would you do 2 more? Did you treat the whole tank?

Sorry I missed this thread.. been preoccupied. .. if this happens to a thread again please use the report function to draw attention to it.

As others have said we need more information ... pics and vids would be great as well.

At this point theres not enough info but some general notes.

Its not likely one fish will be so heavily infested with flukes but not others. Its also unusual
I have treated with Flubendazole internally as well. Have started metro treatment 2 days back since it is not eating.
that its not eating. Flukes are an irritant to adult discus but rarely cause them to stop eating. The use of pp multiple times and flubendazole would have knocked back flukes..

I suspect there maybe something else here like a bacterial gill issue.

I do not think treating more with pp will help and the use of flubendazole maybe contributing to the lack of appetite. . I would suggest backing off on treatments for a few days. .

Hope to see pics vids and more info soon.
