Your plan sounds good Freddy just dont OD on the prime.. too much can harm them. Not sure I would have your neighbor adding it daily.. maybe just show them how to and have them update on the fish.. if the fish look stressed.. then have them add prime... Im on a well so not familiar with how much prime is ok daily. Others may have a better idea.

On your reference to Mikes tank issues.. two different set of circumstances. They arent related and can have very different outcomes. Though it is not a good timimg issue... enjoy your holiday get away. Family time is precious. You can always replace fish.. not so with family memories.

Thanks. It is a large tank, two caps is enough for about 80G but the tank is 270G. I might ask him to come every other day just to be safe since there is no feeding.

About Mike, first and foremost it is terrible what he had to go through and then having to euthanize his fish is worse. I know it can be different but it is SO hard not to think about the same outcome. I have not had this issue in almost a decade, it has always been flukes or worms. Always treatable and not this stressful.

I came back last night to find all dead fish in my tank. What a pleasant surprise coming back from Xmas.
As I said to Al in a private chat, you love this hobby but this hobby not always loves you back.

I have not felt this bad in years, I know everyone says you will kill fish when you start with this hobby. But this is the first time in 3 decades that I kill 18 fish in 1wk. This really sucks!

I feel for you. I lost 7 in all. It was crushing. I do take some solace in knowing it happens to everyone at some point. Best of luck with your next batch!

Aw Freddy, so sorry you came home to that. I know it hurts, so hugs and you tried so hard. Hopefully you may decide to get new fish and stay with the hobby.
