Hi Matt, once in quarantine and if you feel the fish were exposed to a source with worms you can deworm again. The folks who say to deworm once a month are only there to sale their dewormers, good for them but not good for the fish.

Matt I describe what I do here....

    https://forum.simplydiscus.com/showt...tine-Procedure

Being in the UK Im not sure you can easily get levamisole without a script from a vet. You may be better able to source Flubendazole in the uk.. if so the dosing changes and is generally done ever other day for 10 days .. flubendazole really should be dissolved in dmso (Untergasser) but using vodka has worked well for me. You can also use acetone but I have had some weird bacterial blooms from acetone in the past so I dont use it.
CAUTION.. Fludendazole can be easily overdosed and even if not some discus reports of tail and headstanding have occurred. I have to wonder if those cases were cases where fenbendazole was substituted somewhere along the supplyline.. Never use Fenbendazole in the water for discus..only in food. I tested Fenbendazole in the past in angels and discus. They did not do well(tail and head standing and fin burns). I reported this on the forum .

    Hth,
    Al

Thanks Pat & Al, you would hope too think the importers of Wilds should do this and they possibly do?, I,ve heard good thinks about Levamisole .

Will do my homework on De wormers here....

Would a Discus pick up worm,s if you didn,t add any new fish or plants which I will not go for....just Wood roots from local River and roots from house plants.

Our Pet Cat never goes out ...so would this be the same ...eg No Worms.

My Wife is a classic case of looking on the net when she has a Problem.....I think am getting the same ....and this before I,ve got them.

Just want to do the right stuff.

Not going to get worms from house plants but theres always a chance of parasites/eggs from river wood and aquatic plants.

Yes it is. Most discus diseases and parasites are not specific to discus which means any fish is a potential carrier. I take no chances. Others have their own systems of Qt ..others still do none at all. My way is not the only way... its just my way and works for me...it should work for anyone if I understand the processes involved as I believe I do.

I share what I do freely here.. some use the info...others not so much.
