    Problem

    1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
I got three discus about 6 to 8 inches, very big fish. The biggest one got picked on by the other two discus. I'm not sure if they're a breeding pair or not. I noticed after he got picked on by the other two for three days. I put a divider in the tank and two days have past that I noticed his sadness to him.

    2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).
The discus has clamped fins, very dark, lethargic, stays in one spot, doesn't look bloated, breathing very heavy from both gills. The gills look tattered and a little white maybe?

    3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.

Metafix for two days now for the beat up discus.

    Tank/Water

    4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
125g and the fishes ages are unknown, there are now 7 discus and three are about 6 to 8 inches and 4 are about 4 inches.

    5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).
Only 25% once a month, I'm sure I'll do more since I got the discus..

    6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?
5 years and has black sand substrate at about 2 to 4 inches.

    7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.

    No idea
    8. What type/brand water conditioner do you use? Do you add it to the tank or aging barrel? How much do you use?
We only use barrels and the chlorine and gas to escape

    9. Parameters and water source;

Note: Water Parameters are important in diagnosing problems within a tank. If you don't own test kits for the following information, you can purchase them, test your parameters and post this info as soon as possible.

    - temp ___81.5__

    - ph ____see picture_

    - ammonia reading ____see picture

    - nitrite reading ____see picture

    - nitrate reading ____see picture

What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.

    - well water ____

    - municipal water ____

    - RO water ____RODI

    10. Any new fish, plants or inverts added recently.
All of the discus are new and the 4 I just got are from today, day 5 of getting my sick discus.

    11. Please tell us what you feed your fish and how often. This can be critical information for solving the problem so be as specific as you can.
I feed them flakes, viber bites, and freeze dried bring shrimp every day. Once a day is all I do, but now that I have the discus, I am feeding twice a day.

    12. Include any pictures or videos you have which shows the symptoms. If you can't add them to this post, please provide a link to them.

Sierra , Welcome to SimplyDiscus! Im sorry you are having issues here. We can try to help but need more info.

Can you post a pic of your tank.. the new discus and sick Discus? Im getting the impression you are new to discus keeping? Have you been quarantining your new discus or just adding them to your tank?

I don't see a picture of water parameters. But 25% WC a month is no where near enough clean water being changed. 25% won't even get you through a week. Also, wouldn't hurt to up the temp a degree or two.

Guessing you added these discus to an existing tank. What other fish are in the tank? Is the sick discus one of the original 3 or the new 4. Were the new 4 added while the one was already sick? Pictures of your fish and tank will help.

Do you siphon/clean the substrate every WC? I see the tank was sit up for five years. Was the tank cleaned before any of the discus were put in the tank? What are the parameters, from the source and the barrel after aging?
